Shirts & Apparel in New Jersey

Crew shirts, hoodies and hi-vis that match the trucks.

When the truck, the sign and the crew all carry the same mark, a customer stops wondering who is standing in their driveway. Apparel is the cheapest trust signal a service business can buy.

What the job involves

We produce t-shirts, long sleeves, polos, hoodies, sweatshirts, work shirts, hats and hi-vis vests and tees, decorated with your existing logo or one we design. Left chest and full back are the standard placements for service crews; sleeve prints and cap embroidery are common add-ons.

Because we already hold your vehicle artwork, apparel matches the fleet without a second design round. The same colors, the same logo proportions, the same phone number treatment. That consistency is exactly what customers read as an established company rather than a truck and a guy.

How we do it

Sizing and quantities are practical. We work in the run sizes small contractors actually need rather than pushing case minimums, and we can reorder to the same spec when a new hire starts or shirts wear out.

Hi-vis deserves a note: many municipal, DOT-adjacent and utility job sites require class-rated garments. We can supply compliant hi-vis with your logo so crews are both legal and branded on site.

How mobile lettering works

STEP 1

Call or send a photo

Tell us the vehicle, the wording and roughly when you need it. A photo of the truck answers most of our questions in one shot.

STEP 2

Approve the proof

We lay the design out on a template of your actual vehicle and send it back for approval. Nothing is cut until you say yes.

STEP 3

We come to you

We arrive at your yard or job site with everything needed, prep the panels and apply the graphics. Most jobs are done while the truck stays parked at your yard.

Shirts & Apparel — questions we get asked

Is there a minimum order? — Small runs are fine — a two-person crew is a normal order. Larger runs cost less per garment.

We work in practical small-business quantities. Tell us your headcount and we will quote it.

Can you match my truck lettering exactly?

Yes — we already have the artwork and colors on file.

Do you supply hi-vis for job sites?

Yes, including class-rated garments printed with your logo.

How long does apparel take?

Typically one to two weeks depending on garment availability and quantity.

Can you match our truck colors exactly?

Close, yes. Fabric ink and vinyl film are different materials, so an exact match is not always possible, but we work to the same color references.

Shirts And Apparel — what the job actually is

We can supply crew shirts, hats and hi-vis to match the lettering on your vehicles, so a crew arriving on site reads as the same company as the truck parked outside.

Matching matters more than it sounds. A customer who sees a lettered truck and then an unbranded crew registers a gap, particularly on residential work where the homeowner is deciding whether to let people into the house. Consistent apparel closes it for very little money.

Hi-vis has a practical constraint: the print cannot compromise the garment’s visibility rating where one is required. We keep printing to areas that do not interfere with the reflective banding.

How we do it at your location

Mobile lettering means the sign shop travels instead of the vehicle. We cut and prepare the graphics before we leave, then apply them at your yard, driveway or job site — so the truck is off the road for hours rather than days.

The order matters more than most people expect. Everything that can be done away from your vehicle is done first: the layout is proofed, the film is printed or cut, and the panels are weeded and taped ready to hang. That is the slow part, and it happens at the shop.

What happens at your address is the part that needs the vehicle present — cleaning and de-greasing the panels, positioning and hinging the graphics, squeegeeing them down, trimming around handles, rivets and body lines, and post-heating the edges so they stay put. How long it takes depends on the vehicle and how much goes on it, and we give you an estimate with the quote.

Temperature is the one thing that can move a booking. Vinyl adhesive needs the panel warm enough to bond properly, so in deep winter we work around the weather rather than through it. If a job cannot be done safely outdoors on the day, we say so rather than applying film that will lift in a month.

    • Send photos of the vehicle and the wording you want.
    • We proof the layout on your actual vehicle, not a generic outline.
    • You approve it — nothing is cut before you do.
    • We come to you; the panels are cleaned and the film applied.
    • The truck stays at your yard while we work.

Screen print, embroidery or heat transfer?

Screen printing is cheapest per shirt once you are past about two dozen. Embroidery is what polos, caps and jackets want, and it survives industrial washing. Heat transfer earns its place on small runs and on names and numbers that differ garment to garment.

Color count is what moves screen printing. Each color is a separate screen and a separate pass, so a two-color design on fifty shirts is straightforward while a six-color one is a different conversation. Embroidery does not care about color count in the same way; it cares about stitch count, which means fine detail and small text are the expensive part.

The most common mistake is putting a vehicle logo straight onto a cap. A design drawn to read across a van door has proportions that do not survive being shrunk to four inches on a curved front panel. We redraw for the garment rather than scaling down.

Matching the crew to the trucks

Use the same lettering weight, the same colors and the same arrangement of name and trade on the shirt as on the vehicle. The point is that someone who saw the truck in the morning recognises the person on the doorstep in the afternoon.

That recognition is the entire commercial argument for work shirts, and it depends on consistency rather than quality. A beautifully embroidered polo in colors that do not match the vans is a nice polo; it is not brand recognition.

In practice that means we take the artwork from the vehicle files, not from a different logo file somebody emailed. Same proportions, same colors, adjusted only where the garment demands it — usually simplifying fine detail that will not stitch cleanly at chest size.

Points worth deciding before the order: whether names go on the garments, whether the back carries the trade and phone number or stays plain, and how many each person needs to get through a week. Five shirts per person is the usual answer.

    • Left chest logo sized for the garment, not scaled down from the truck.
    • Back print with trade and phone number where the crew is customer-facing.
    • Colors matched to the vehicle graphics, not approximated.
    • High-visibility garments where the site requires them, decorated without covering the reflective bands.
    • A blank chosen for how it will actually be washed.

Where the blanks and care standards come from

We buy blanks from the usual trade suppliers rather than holding stock, which means you can choose the garment rather than take what is in the back room. The standards below are the ones those suppliers certify and label against.
