Graphic Design in New Jersey

Logos and layouts built by people who know how vinyl behaves.

Though we specialize in truck lettering, our talents don’t stop there; we offer a wide array of graphic design. From professionally created logos to creative and unique wrap layouts, we supply designs from traditional bold lettering to modern electrifying templates. If “image is everything,” let Lombardo Lettering design your logo to send your message and bring you business!

Design done by a print shop and design done by a sign shop are different things. We draw for the surface the artwork ends up on, which is why our logos still read when they are three inches tall on a door and three feet tall on a trailer.

What the job involves

If you have no logo, we build one. If you have one but only as a low-resolution JPG from 2009, we redraw it as clean vector art you own and can use anywhere — trucks, shirts, signs, invoices, business cards, social profiles. If you have a full brand package already, we work inside it and match your colors exactly.

Layout is where most of the value sits. The same logo can be invisible or unmissable depending on placement, letter height, contrast against the paint, and how much competing information surrounds it. We mock the design onto a template of your actual vehicle or sign panel, then send a proof. Revisions are part of the process, not an upcharge surprise.

How we do it

The range runs from traditional bold sign lettering, the style the family has cut since 1940, to modern gradient-heavy digital layouts. We will recommend a direction based on your trade and who you are trying to reach: a high-end remodeling contractor in Bergen County and a hauling outfit in Warren County want different looks and get different treatments.

You leave with production-ready files, not just a picture. That means vector artwork, defined colors and the file formats other vendors will ask for later.

How mobile lettering works

STEP 1

Call or send a photo

Tell us the vehicle, the wording and roughly when you need it. A photo of the truck answers most of our questions in one shot.

STEP 2

Approve the proof

We lay the design out on a template of your actual vehicle and send it back for approval. Nothing is cut until you say yes.

STEP 3

We come to you

We arrive at your yard or job site with everything needed, prep the panels and apply the graphics. Most jobs are done while the truck stays parked at your yard.

Graphic Design — questions we get asked

Do I own the artwork?

Yes. You get the production files for work we design for you.

Can you use my logo from a photo or business card?

Usually. We redraw it as vector art, which also fixes the blurriness you have been living with.

How many revisions do I get?

We work until the layout is right. Reasonable revisions are part of the job.

Can I see it on my truck before committing?

That is standard for us — every layout is proofed on a template of your vehicle.

Do you charge for design?

Layout and proofing for work we are fitting is part of the job. Standalone brand design is quoted separately.

What artwork do you need from me?

Vector artwork is ideal. If you only have a low-resolution image we will tell you whether it will hold up at vehicle size, and redraw it if not.

Graphic Design — what the job actually is

We lay out your design on a photograph of your actual vehicle before anything is cut or printed, so you approve what the truck will look like rather than a drawing of a generic van.

Most disappointing vehicle graphics are design problems, not application problems. Text sized to look right on a screen becomes unreadable at 40 mph. A logo placed over a body line gets cut in half by a crease. A phone number in a thin typeface disappears against a light-colored panel in sunlight.

Proofing on the real vehicle catches all of that before it costs anything. We work from photographs of your truck from the side, rear and three-quarter, place the elements where they will actually sit, and send it back. Changes at that stage are free; changes after the film is cut are not.

If you have existing brand artwork we will work to it. If you do not, we will build something legible and consistent that can be reproduced across the rest of the fleet later.

How we do it at your location

Mobile lettering means the sign shop travels instead of the vehicle. We cut and prepare the graphics before we leave, then apply them at your yard, driveway or job site — so the truck is off the road for hours rather than days.

The order matters more than most people expect. Everything that can be done away from your vehicle is done first: the layout is proofed, the film is printed or cut, and the panels are weeded and taped ready to hang. That is the slow part, and it happens at the shop.

What happens at your address is the part that needs the vehicle present — cleaning and de-greasing the panels, positioning and hinging the graphics, squeegeeing them down, trimming around handles, rivets and body lines, and post-heating the edges so they stay put. How long it takes depends on the vehicle and how much goes on it, and we give you an estimate with the quote.

Temperature is the one thing that can move a booking. Vinyl adhesive needs the panel warm enough to bond properly, so in deep winter we work around the weather rather than through it. If a job cannot be done safely outdoors on the day, we say so rather than applying film that will lift in a month.

    • Send photos of the vehicle and the wording you want.
    • We proof the layout on your actual vehicle, not a generic outline.
    • You approve it — nothing is cut before you do.
    • We come to you; the panels are cleaned and the film applied.
    • The truck stays at your yard while we work.
